Karen Carns Foundation

Karen Carns Foundation Update
The Karen Carns Foundation exists to continue the dreams and work of Karen Carns who died August 2001 following a supremely courageous fifteen-month battle with leukemia and lymphoma. The Foundation funds the Karen Carns Scholarship Fund and Carns’s Coats for Kids. Visit www.karencarnsfoundation.org for more information.

A Special Thank You to Dale Dean of DeanHouston for designing the Karen Carns Foundation logo.
Dale really captured the symbol of Karen and her ideas for the Foundation.
The stars represent the smiles Karen brought to all of us, and our dreams. The book represents her dedication to education and her determination to provide help for as many children as possible. The heart reminds us of her giving spirit and that, in her words, “to love and be loved is all that really matters.”

Web Site:
A Special Thank You to Susan Ankenbauer, Jenny Vassiliou and Mark Sciortino for their efforts in designing and inputting the information on carnsnet.com to share with everyone. In the near future, they will add links to other important and informational sites.

Outside Agency:
It is important to remember that the Scholarship Fund is a need-based fund. An agency will be retained to determine the financial need of applicants. It is also necessary for each applicant to file for financial aid from the school they wish to attend.
